Extra Activities
In addition to our fun-filled and varied core educational activities we are pleased to be able to offer additional activities (at extra charge) that are both hugely rewarding and a big hit with the children. They are provided by the outstanding external tutors and organisations that we partner with.
Forest SchoolThink back to your childhood…did you rummage around in the woods and fields, free to roam and run, explore and discover? Yes, there were times when you might have hurt your knee or torn your shirt but you don’t remember those things – you remember how great it felt to climb that tree and feel like the King of the World. You remember building that den and hiding from the monster that lived in the wood. You remember spending hours making mud pies for you and your friends. You remember the feeling that you were part of something wonderful – the sky, the trees, fresh air, nature.
By participating in Forest School at Roots to Wings we hope to let your children have as many of those experiences as possible. It will be muddy, it will be exciting, it will be lots of fun and it will be the stuff memories are made of. There is an additional charge for these Forest School sessions of £3.50 per session. Forest School usually runs fortnightly on a Tuesday. |
Little Folk Music MakersNeil Rabjohn, of Little Folk Music Makers, brings with him the fun and excitement of making music and singing to the children. They sing a mixture of well-known and new songs, using a large variety of instruments – the cahon, gathering drums, cymbals, bells and maracas to mention only a few. Neil also incorporates aspects of learning into his classes – introducing numbers through song, for example.
Neil visits Roots and Wings once a month, on a Wednesday. All the children really look forward to his visits immensely. There is an additional charge for these sessions of £2.25. |
